The classic of adapted basketball, featuring full teams showcasing strategy and skill in wheelchairs. With functional classification to balance abilities, this discipline combines speed, precision, and competitive spirit in every quarter of play.
Two teams of five players compete on a basketball court. Players are classified according to their degree of disability, and the classification points of the five players on the court are added together, with a maximum limit to ensure fairness.
Games are divided into four quarters of 10 minutes each, with intervals between them. A player must dribble the ball after pushing the wheels of their chair twice. If not, it is considered a "traveling" violation. A team has 24 seconds to attempt a shot after gaining possession of the ball. Fouls are penalized with free throws, depending on the situation and type of foul.
