Wheelchair Tennis
Players are classified according to their degree of disability, ensuring fair competition. There are two main classes: Open (for players with loss of function in one or both lower limbs) and Quad (for players with loss of function in three or more limbs).
Two bounces of the ball are allowed. The first bounce must land within the court boundaries, but the second bounce may land outside. Any contact with the net or post by the body or wheelchair is considered a fault. Players must keep at least one buttock in contact with the wheelchair when hitting the ball.
Most of the rules of conventional tennis apply, including service, scoring, and fault rules. Competition wheelchairs are specifically designed for tennis, providing greater mobility and stability. Scoring is the same as in conventional tennis.
